Senior Specialist - GIS

Main responsibilities include:

• Configuration, deployment, management and administration of AECOM's enterprise GIS Infrasructure and solutions - ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro etc.
• Providing technical support and resolving GIS-related tickets raised by AECOM staff and clients on both desktop and cloud GIS platforms and applications.
• Python scripting and development of automated tasks for user onboarding, & offboarding, roles and license management on the ArcGIS cloud platforms.
• Data analysis and Reporting, with Microsoft Power BI, in relation to GIS adoption and license usage or utilization on both desktop and web ArcGIS platforms.
• Architecting deployment solutions, in collaboration with AECOM IT, for web-GIS applications to facilitate efficient hosting of client applications.

Utilities Engineer

Main responsibilities include:

• Utilities Space software & application development, including integration with GIS.
• Monitoring and management of an application's infrastructure - database, APIs and web servers.
• Development of unit and integration tests, automation of build and deploy pipelines.

Geospatial Specialist & EO Developer

Main responsibilities, particularly in the fields of Agriculture, Environmental & Natural Sciences, Climate Monitoring and Vegetation Monitoring, include:

• Data Processing and Analysis scripts development for automation of EO processing tasks
• Web application and APIs development for GTI products e.g GeoFarmer, Water Monitoring etc.
• Cloud processing of satellite imagery through platforms like Google Earth Engine, Descartes Labs API

Sessional Lecturer & DigiMine Researcher

Tasks and responsibilities included:

• Lectures in Introductin to GIS, spatial databases - design and SQL queries.
• Overseeing installation of Geotechnical and Environmental Monitoring sensors at Sterkfontein Caves

Presales & Technical Consultant - GIS

Involved in presales tasks, including technical assistance to Sales team and development of POC GIS applications to facilitate client/business development.

PhD Geography

My research focus and interests are in Spatio-Temporal systems design, data modelling and analysis. This is particularly of interest considering the 3D world or geography with the ever dynamic phenomena within.
